Abstract: In 2015 Brazil suffered a huge ecologic disaster, known as Mariana's disaster from Minas Gerais. The consequences were worse than expected and the Brazilian authorities were not able to take care of people and recover the devastated environment. This work analyses the role of public policies carried out by Brazilian authorities in response to this event.
